Cannabidiol (CBD) has been the focus of many medical cannabis studies, and continues to prove itself as a powerful anti-inflammatory drug. What makes CBD even more desirable for some patients is that it does not cause the psychoactive effects associated with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an exciting focus of medical research, popular media, and legislation related to cannabis. Its presence is becoming ubiquitous on the shelves of health food stores and search engine results for numerous medical conditions, but don’t believe everything you hear. While CBD is an incredibly safe and therapeutic component of cannabis, there are many myths and misconceptions associated with it. Let’s take a look at a few.

How do you use CBD like Olympians? For pain, stress, and sleep for starters. The 2018 Winter Olympics are in full swing. Have you ever wondered if Olympians can use cannabis?THC is still on the World Anti-Doping Association’s (WADA) list of prohibited substances, but CBD was recently taken off that list and took effect on January 1st, 2018.

Vancouver resident Carol Francey, 70, attributed cannabis use of more than five decades to her excellent health today. According to Francey, she smoked cannabis to alleviate various conditions such as arthritis, sciatica, and insomnia. Francey added that her previous medications used to affect her balance and slurred her speech. However, the use of various forms of cannabis proved helpful in relieving her conditions without the unwanted side effects from her medications.

A new study shows that many consumers are giving up conventional pharmaceutical drugs in favor of CBD. CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of dozens of cannabinoids found in hemp, but unlike THC it doesn’t cause people to get “high.”  In a study released in early August, market-research firm Brightfield Group surveyed 2,400 registered users of Hello MD, a medical cannabis education and advocacy website. One of the study’s most dramatic findings is that 42 percent of people who use CBD report that they’ve given up pharmaceutical drugs in favor of cannabis in some form. This figure includes both strains of psychoactive cannabis, a.k.a. “marijuana,” with high levels of CBD and CBD-only products like CBD oil supplements made from industrial hem

When it comes to treating mental illnesses – especially depression – the options are unfortunately extremely limited. Most of the time pharmaceutical drugs can take weeks, if not months, before the patient notices a difference and oftentimes antidepressant medications are extremely addictive with a long list of potential side effects if you quit taking them suddenly. The worst part is that antidepressants only work for some people – at least 1 in 3 people with depression are unable to find relief through current antidepressant drugs.

In today’s day and age, people are becoming more and more aware of the reactions going on inside their bodies and finding new methods of what they can do to be naturally healthy. A part of that is physical health and appearance, mainly weight loss. Through scientific studies and evidence, people are discovering new ways to facilitate weight loss through the introduction of different nutrients to their body. Recent studies show a correlation between CBD and natural weight loss through something called “fat browning”.

Newcomers to cannabidiol (CBD) oil are often curious as to what to expect when having the viscous oil for the first time. The two most common ways to take CBD oil are orally through the mouth, or sublingually, which means to place it under the tongue and allow its botanical compounds to diffuse into the blood through the mucous membrane. Whichever consumption method you choose, you’ll taste the flavor of the CBD oil.
