What Is Full Spectrum?

“There is a lot of talk about the differences between Full Spectrum Hemp Oil and CBD Isolate.”

During a study conducted at the Hadassah Medical School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, scientists compared the effectiveness of a completely purified CBD extract versus a full-spectrum extract of cannabis flowers containing high CBD volume.

Here’s what we know:

  • Full Spectrum Hemp Oil is a whole plant extract that leaves the natural terpenes, cannabinoids, and fatty acids intact.
  • CBD Isolate is a purified extract that has been stripped of all terpenoids and other cannabinoids.
  • Within the Full Spectrum Hemp Oil, the cannabinoids involved create a synergistic effect with the terpene content. Otherwise known as the entourage effect, the interaction between the two create amplified effects as well as provide added relief to specific conditions.
  • CBD Isolate based products have a lower effectiveness at higher dosages than Full Spectrum Hemp Oil Products.
  • If a large dosage of CBD is needed, Full Spectrum products have a higher effective rate at high dosages than CBD Isolate.

Why receive one cannabinoid when you can receive the full plant spectrum?

This is why Provida CBD only uses Full Spectrum Hemp Oil in all of our products.

“The interactive synergy between Cannabinoids and Terpenes is referred to as the “entourage effect”. Every living mammal has an endocannabinoid system, which plays a crucial role in regulating our physiology, mood, and everyday experience.”

With that being said, the pairing of Cannabinoids and Terpenes is far superior than just ingesting Cannabinoids by themselves. That is not to say that synthetic, hemp-based, and CBD-only medicines aren’t effective options for many patients. These types of products have served a huge role in pushing forward positive legislature, globally.

Whole Plant Extract is a term used to describe extracts containing the full spectrum of therapeutic compounds cannabis has to offer. The extract includes the full range of Cannabinoids and Terpenes found within the specific plant. For example: The terpene myrcene, can reduce resistance in the blood-brain barrier, acting as a lubricant for THC and other beneficial chemicals. Pinene helps counteract compromised cognition and memory caused by THC.

There are over 100+ Cannabinoids and 100+ Terpenes, the possible combinations and blends are potentially endless, as scientists are discovering more and more every year. Just imagine how many possible beneficial medicines can be created from these agents. We’re just scratching the surface with the cannabis plant and all it has to offer.
